I don't just teach wilderness skills, I have lived and used them for over thirty years. My birth name, Walter, means man of the woods. It is a fitting name, because I have been an avid outdoors man and wilderness teacher for most of my life. I began building primitive shelters in my early teens on the family farm. Thirty years ago, I began to seriously study authentic Native American and wilderness skills through,Tracker School. That lead to further opportunities, and I began teaching at The Children of the Earth Foundation, in New Jersey. I was also fortunate to teach the Native Americans in Texas, and afterwards began running week long skills gatherings in New York, called Moccasin Meet. Most recently, I taught a full time wilderness school to mentor serious students that wanted to live with me and learn the knowledge of Native skills and how to live close to the earth. My hope is that you will find how much fun it is to get outdoors and practice these skills.
