Gian's role as an Advaita or Non-Duality Teacher has come gradually as a result of realizations into our True Nature -- Pure Consciousness. Advaita is a VERY focus discipline. It aims at helping the seeker REALIZE that ultimately EVERYTHING IS ONE and then realize that all that is, is Pure Consciousness. A fundamental step towards this grand realization is as follow: "at this very moment, the one Consciousness is looking through your eyes and reading this words, and there is NO SECOND. This means that, actually, there is no 'you." Except You as the One Divine Consciousness. This first and fundamental realization is known as "Awakening to Your True Nature."
In this channel you are encouraged to also perfect "your" instruments -- body, mind and soul (subtle body). What is the advantage? Once Awakening has been attained, still, you'll need to attain Liberation. And, to attain Liberation you'll need to work on your "personality" a part of your mind/body system.
