Special Weather Statement in effect for Charlotte County
Rain at times heavy expected for Friday for southern New Brunswick.
Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm except up to 80 mm in thunderstorms. Highest amounts near the Fundy Coast.
Locations: St. Stephen, Grand Manan, St. Andrews, St. George, Sussex - Kennebecasis Valley, Kings County, Saint John and County, Fundy National Park, and Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.
Time span: Beginning early Friday morning in the west then tapering off Friday night in the east.
Heavy showers with associated thunderstorms will move into western areas near dawn on Friday. This will give moderate to heavy rainfall amounts, especially for areas near the Fundy Coast. Thunderstorms will likely give amounts of up to 80 mm, or possibly higher.

RCMP arrest St. Stephen man wanted on two warrants
August 9, 2023: A 27-year-old man from St. Stephen, N.B., who was wanted on two warrants of arrest, has been arrested by the West District RCMP.
On July 26, 2023, Joshua Ryan Gibson failed to appear in court to answer to charges of theft under $5,000, and break and enter with intent, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On July 28, he failed to appear in court again, and a second warrant was issued.
On August 8, members of the West District RCMP located and arrested Joshua Ryan Gibson in a rural area north of St. Stephen. He is currently in police custody, and is scheduled to appear in Saint John Provincial Court on August 10 at 9:30 a.m., for a bail hearing.
The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.

St. Stephen Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a residence located at 14 Pine Street in St. Stephen on Wednesday night. It was not suspicious in nature and is believed to be accidental at this time.
