Babs & the babes is the married couple Barbro Petersen and Lasse Nilsson. Barbro and Lasse became a couple in 2010. Both Barbro and Lasse have experience of the music profession as they were active already in the early 80's.
Already during the first year together, they began to perform in some smaller contexts and then quickly discovered that they have two voices that work very well together. Barbro has a very strong and low alto voice and Lasse can still easily hit the highest notes for a tenor. Two voices that break with the more traditional and instead the woman has the dark and the man the light in the tones.
The couple themselves are responsible for all vocal efforts nowadays, also together with the group's new member Erik TĂśrnblom. Barbro, Lasse and Erik produce all the music together with music producer Fredrik Samsson.
