Happy Independence Day (Fourth of July)!! Today we celebrate the commemoration of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America on July 4th, 1776, when the Continental Congress declared the 13 colonies were no longer subject to the monarch of Britain, King George III. While not a perfect independence for all Americans (in practice) at the time it was established, it did set the principles and standards to move forward from. We've come a long way! As ugly and imperfect US history has been, let's not forget the good that's been accomplished in this land. Whether you're white, black, hispanic, asian, etc - if you were born and raised here, or chose to become a citizen, be proud to be an AMERICAN! United we stand, and divided we fall. Let's make Captain Steve Rogers proud :).
