The Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF) was founded 25 years ago by a group of concerned citizens, who recognised the rich history of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi, and the value of this facility in Pakistan. However, even though JPMC provided over a million patients, every year, with free medical attention, the crumbling structure and out-dated equipment made visits to the hospital unbearable.
From this concern sprung the vision of PAF. Maintaining a strictly apolitical stance, PAF launched an independent drive to raise funds, reconstruct buildings and reinstate crucial medical equipment. Having successfully completed ten large-scale projects, PAF also established a state-of-the-art blood bank, a highly sophisticated laboratory and a streamlined drug bank. Today PAF has established a resolute reputation, which gives it the privilege of continuing its work, with the support of benevolent philanthropists.
