Chef Giandomenico 'Gianni' Caprioli grew up on a small farm in southern Italy. At the age of 19, Gianni opened his first restaurant in Italy, working with some of the most renowned Italian chefs.
Before settling in Hong Kong in 2004, Gianni served as the private chef of the owner of the FIAT group, Gianni Agnelli.
Today, Gianni has brought Italian most authentic food to Hong Kong with several enterprises: Italian fine dining restaurant, Giando Italian Restaurant & Bar; Hong Kong's premier Italian gourmet retail brand, Mercato Gourmet; and a successful food trading company, Dalla Valle.
In February 2022, Gianni was awarded the prestigious 'Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy' by the Italian Republic.
