I'm officially opening my Worship Team Devotional store today! www.leadingworshipwell.com/devotionals

To celebrate I'm offering a Black Friday deal: use promo code DEVO at checkout to get 3 devotionals for the price of 2. Add any 3 devotionals to your cart, enter the promo code, and get one of them for free.

I've never offered these devotionals before. I've been quietly working on them behind the scenes. They're all 15 minute, no-prep-ahead-of-time worship team devotionals that generate meaningful discussion and set your team’s hearts and minds on the right thing before they lead worship!

Check them out here:

And don't forget to use promo code DEVO before it expires on Monday!

🔴COMING SOON!: If you haven't guessed from the polls I've been posting... I'm currently working on putting together a worship team devotional store!

This seems to be one of the greatest unmet needs in the worship leading community. There are some great books about worship out there but most of them are way too long to read for a devotional time at a worship team rehearsal.

So I've put together some devotionals specifically designed to be read AT your worship rehearsal with no-prep-ahead-of-time. All you have to do is print out the short devotional (5 minutes long), read it with your team, discuss the provided discussion questions (10 minutes of discussion), and close in prayer.

I want to make it as easy as possible for worship leaders to break out of the cycle of just running through songs at their worship rehearsals and start pouring into their team spiritually.

What do you want to see in these worship team devotionals? Let me know in the comments below!

Do you have a regular devotional time with your worship team? If so, how much time do you spend reading/discussing it with your team?

"Worship is knowing, treasuring, and showing the worth of God."

I'm a sucker for definitions of worship. Every time I read how an author defines worship, I instantly store it in my "worship definition memory bank."

And I love this definition from John Piper's book Expository Exultation because it highlights 3 things about worship:

1. Knowing - true worship must be based on TRUTH. We must seek to know the God we're worshiping. If we do not, we will worship a God of our own invention (also known as idolatry).

2. Treasuring - it's not enough to simply know things about God. We must TREASURE Him.

3. Showing - this knowledge and treasuring must overflow into external acts of glorification by the words we proclaim and the lives we live.

I just started reading this book but will probably be talking about it's relevance to worship leaders on my channel soon.

Ever wonder how I plan my videos? This is pretty much what I'll have in front of me when I go to church to film this Friday. (In a digital form)

I start off with a topic idea, fill out 3-5 points I want to cover, maybe add some sub-points, and then still end up talking for 20-30 minutes 😂

Here's a sneak peak of next month's videos... if you can decipher my handwriting/shorthand.

💥 Here are a few of my favorite YouTube channels for worship leaders:

‪@WorshipMinistryTraining‬ - Alex is probably one of the only other YouTube channels that specifically talks about the practical side of leading worship on a regular basis (ie. not worship related gear). He's had the Worship Ministry Training podcast for a while and recently started making videos for YouTube. His videos are super practical, helpful, well edited, and well thought out. If you are subscribed to me, there is no reason you shouldn't be subscribed to him. We literally talk about the same things (and he does it better than I do).

‪@HeyWorshipLeader‬ - The TONE master himself - Jimmy Cooper. If you're a worship electric guitarist, check out his channel for info on Line 6 effects and a bunch of other guitar stuff I don't understand. Underneath all the guitar training is a foundation of a true worship leader.

‪@RylandRussell‬ - Ryland is my go-to church tech guy. He focuses on livestream gear and how to implement other tech into your church. He also puts out some pretty awesome Sunday VLOGS.

‪@WorshipRefocus‬ - One of the biggest things I've always struggled with in worship leading is vocals. I've never considered myself a vocalist. Nate is always putting out a bunch of great, practical tips for worship vocalists.

Most of all, I've gotten to know each of these guys over the past year or two and I can vouch that they are all amazing men of God who care about the church and training worship leaders who lead worship well. Check out their channels!
