People often askâŚwhy do humans love dogs? And so many people say itâs because dogs love us unconditionally.
But I personally think we love dogs because of how they allow us to love. They allow us to love with vulnerability. When we love a dog, we remove ourselves from the fear of not being accepted. We can be our stripped-down selves. Our âdance as if no one else is watchingâ selves. Humans are complicated, but dogs allow us to have at least one relationship that is simple. They donât care if we have bad grammar or bad credit. They donât care if we stay out late to hang out with our friends. They care only that we come home.
