Anthony L. Sanchez earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition in 2017, with a minor in Musicology and a Graduate Certificate from the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute (LACSI) at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Sanchez earned his Master’s degree in Music Composition from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Piano Performance from Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA. His principal teachers were Adrian P. Childs, Juan Martin Gendelman, John Thompson, and Kevin Hampton. As a composer, Sanchez strives for a constant experimentation with timbre and new techniques, as with his Elegy for the Planet Tyrr (2013-14), Phobias (2012) and Conundrum (2013). His Ethereal Mood, a Neoclassical work for flute, violin and cello, was premiered in 2010 in Savannah, GA.
