WELL DONE GCSE and A-LEVEL LITFAM! You've put in the work and done your best on the exams, and I am incredibly proud of you for the effort. Those of you who've been watching my videos for a while will know that I care deeply about excellence and quality in whatever we do (including the depth and insight of our literary analysis!), but I always believe that effort matters so much more than performance, and that - as cliched as it sounds - the key to long-term success and fulfilment really is prioritising progress over perfection. πͺ
With a long summer ahead of us, I'd like to shift gears a bit and work on some non-GCSE/A-Level lit content, like analysis of some timeless poems (e.g. I have Angelou and Blake lined up!), or some advanced/uni-level lit ideas, skills etc. The one thing I don't think I'll do, though, is analysis of very niche texts, especially ones not a lot of people study (because then not a lot of people would watch...)Β
Otherwise, what recommendations do you have? I'd love to hear so please comment below and I'll consider for future content! β€οΈ

SET YOUR ALARMS, LITFAM! Apparently lots of you are interested in studying with me for this year's GCSE and A-Level English Lit exams, so I'll be hosting 2 live streams on 20 and 21 April (Sat and Sun) 10:30-11:30 UKT to share my top tips for exam success. Just to level set: I'll be focusing on exam skills like time management, essay writing, unseen passage analysis etc., and less so on specific texts (especially not the nicher ones that only a few are studying). If you need help on specific stuff, email me at itslitwithjen@gmail.com for separate arrangements. Looking forward to it - and come with questions! See you all there π―πβ€οΈ

Hi! I'm Jen, a literary expert, innovative educator and study content creator. If you're studying English Literature at school, this channel is where you can find top grade learning resources on Shakespeare, poetry, fiction and essay writing (with an emphasis on I/GCSE, A-Level and IB - but I promise you I can analyse ANY text!).
Since graduating with a 1st Class Degree in English from the University of Oxford, I've been teaching and writing about English Literature for as long as I can remember.
My literary analysis is always detailed, insightful and creative. I love reading between the lines, and literature offers us a wonderful opportunity to do just that. My goal is to inspire you to see the fun and beauty of analysing great writing - and of course, to get top grades while we're at it!
I'll be posting weekly videos aimed at helping you become a lit expert, so make sure to subscribe.
