Marine data is an engine for “smart and sustainable growth” in the European Union and worldwide. The Copernicus Marine Service is designed to respond to challenges and opportunities in the environmental, public, business and scientific sectors. Using data and information from both satellite and in situ observations, we provide state-of-the-art historic, current, and forecasted data, which offer an unprecedented capability to observe, understand and anticipate marine environment events.
The Copernicus Marine Service is part of the European Commission's Copernicus Progamme (copernicus.eu), the world's largest single Earth observation programme. The Programme is separated into 6 different themes: Marine, Land, Atmosphere, Climate, Security, & Emergency. Mercator Ocean is the entrusted entity managing the Copernicus Marine Service.
Our Marine data is free and open to the public at: marine.copernicus.eu/
