Dr. Matweychuk is an expert on cognitive behavior therapy, particularly Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. He was formally trained by Dr. Albert Ellis, who pioneered the cognitive behavior psychotherapeutic tradition. He also has worked with Dr. Aaron T. Beck, the clinical researcher who developed and tested Beck's Cognitive Therapy. He is very familiar with both of these approaches to cognitive behavior therapy. Dr. Matweychuk works at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, teaches cognitive behavior therapy at New York University, and has a private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
