Larah Helayne is seventeen year old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Growing up in the foothills of the Appalachias, Larah’s life and music have been greatly impacted by the magnificence of the mountains. Her songs reflect both the beauty and struggles of living in Eastern Kentucky, while weaving in the story of her own wild and wonderful life. Larah has been singing and playing piano since she was five years old, and thus began her love affair with music. Now sixteen, Larah has become quite the instrumentalist. You can usually find her with a banjo on her knee, or a guitar strapped around her neck, somewhere playing Kentucky Fiddle Tunes. Although her specialty is Traditional Appalachian Music, Larah also enjoys drumming, and playing electric bass and guitar.
