Football is won in the trenches. Period. End of story.

Jalen Hurts did not beat Patrick Mahomes. In a micro sense, the Eagles' D-line beat the Chiefs' O-line. But at the end of the day, the Eagles beat the Chiefs. If this Super Bowl doesn't convince those who still count football as QB vs. QB, then nothing will.

Naturally though, the sportswriters gave the QB the MVP. Sportswriters gonna sportswrite.

Speaking of QBs, this game has zero impact on Patrick Mahomes's legacy or overall stature. Ain't a QB that ever lived that coulda been dropped into that game and made it any better.

The chickens finally came home to roost. The Chiefs are an excellent team, and they are a top-notch, emulatable franchise, but they were not worthy of the lofty standing they landed this season. C-Score saw that all along. It took until the last game of the season, but C-Score got it right at least in this instance.

The end-of-season video is scheduled for release on Wednesday. I'm a bit swamped today and tomorrow IRL, so it might have to wait until Thursday. But I am shooting for Wednesday.

Thank you, everyone!

A Super Bowl stat I've discovered all on my own...

Every instance of a Super Bowl rematch taking place within a 5-year period:

1975 and 1978 Steelers vs. Cowboys
1992 and 1993 Cowboys vs. Bills
2007 and 2011 Giants vs. Patriots
2019 and 2023 Chiefs vs. 49ers
2022 and 2024 Chiefs vs. Eagles

In every one of these instances, the team that won the first game also won the rematch. Discounting Chiefs/Eagles of course as the rematch hasn't been played yet. Stretch it out to 7 years and you can add 1981/1988 49ers/Bengals on there too.

Not a prediction. Just sayin'...

This isn't football related, but I had the pleasure of attending the WWE Royal Rumble last night. The single best event I've ever been to. Did a little work with my voice though haha, but I will have a new video ready on Tuesday unless I simply can't. YEET! and WOOO!

***Clown Show Alert*** 🤡🤡🤡

For everybody who was worrying about it (all two or three of you lol), and to dispel any rumors out there, I will NOT be leaving this YouTube channel to become a professional sports bettor. Although this was a very tough decision, I feel as though my most recent NFL playoff picks provides me the necessary justification.

In related news, it has been discovered that the most secure retirement plan available IS to become a professional sports bettor by taking the OPPOSITE position on my picks. Yeah you'll get a handful wrong, but you'll see gains in the long run.

Thank you! 😂😂😂

End of (Regular) Season NFL Power Rankings!

For last week's rankings, I made a goof by unintentionally not incorporating the Lions and the 49ers game against each other. Doing so would have lowered Detroit's score by nearly a full point and raised San Francisco's score by around three quarters of a point. If you're making direct comparisons between last week and this week, that will explain the discrepancy.

Regarding teams that didn't exactly put their best foot forward in week 18, that's the choice of each team. Taking the Kansas City Chiefs in particular, the organization brought out its coaching staff and dressed players in their organization's helmets and uniforms and played a game of football. The results that ensue are on the record. C-Score does not intend on being the gatekeepers for internal decisions made by football organizations.

This is the final rankings post of the season. After the Super Bowl we will do a true end of season rankings which will be in video form.

At the bottom of the rankings are total ratings for each playoff field by conference. A deeper explanation of C-Score will also be available. Thank you!!!

AFC Playoff Teams: 85.142
NFC Playoff Teams: 109.796

C-Score is a metric created by this channel to assign an overall value to a football team. It takes a team's:

-Results, including standard and Pythagorean W-L record
-Performance, including game control and play-by-play production
-Quality of opponents, specifically performance level against opponents

and distills all of that into one cumulative and comparative score reflecting the context of the season in question.

When applicable, a team's playoff performance is also included.

A C-Score of 0 represents an average football team, whereas anything above 0 represents an above average team and anything below 0 represents a below average team.

A team's record is important, but not always indicative of C-Score. An 11-5 team can rate higher than a 13-3 team or lower than a 9-7 team. Not all records are created equally.

Happy New Year/Merry NFL Power Rankings Heading into Week 18!

Some notes:
*Every NFC North team took a tumble in strength of schedule, every one of them took a hit in C-Score. Even the teams that won this week.
*The Seahawks are the highest rated team that has been eliminated from playoff contention.
*The Buccaneers are the NFC's highest rated team that would be in the playoffs if they began today but has yet to officially clinch that spot. The Broncos hold that distinction in the AFC.
*11 teams have a double digit C-Score in the negatives. Only 9 have a positive one.

NFL Power Rankings Heading into Week 16!

A few notes here:
*C-Score takes the ENTIRE SEASON into account, not just last week's game.
*One specific head-to-head contest barely accounts for 7% of an entire season at this point.
*We've been completely justified in leaving the Buccaneers higher than the Falcons for most of the season.
*A team can lose its entire roster to injury today, but that doesn't change what has already happened, which is what C-Score evaluates.
*Numbers in parentheses indicate change from last week.
*Thanks for reading today! C-Score's deeper explanation is available at the bottom of the post.
