At the age of 23 this woman carries herself with a gracefulness most of us will never achieve. Like a renaissance painting, a french morning or an old Hollywood diva, VaÌrin Strand bears an old soul. Itâs in the way she talks, the way she performs, in her every gesture, her style and her music.
Now she sings about a hunger for love and intimacy - all kinds of, in friendship, with strangers, with yourself, gained and lost, forever and fleeting. Hearing Vaarin sing and seeing her perform is uncomfortable. She touches something in you that you thought you had tightly tucked away so you wouldnât have to deal with it. âSometimes I try not to do it, because it is emotionally draining, but I canât repress it.â Vaarin can crack you wide open and she will.
And the weirdest thing is: although it feels so horrible, so vulnerable - it is good, cleansing and honest.
