Ritvik Yaparpalvi is a young artist from New York. Born in the USA, to parents from India with no known musical talents in their family lineage, Ritvik’s journey with music education began at a young age. Ritvik is a Ganda-Bandh disciple, of Pandit Nayan Ghosh, a Tabla and Sitar Virtuoso from Mumbai, India. Ritvik has been learning Tabla under his guidance for the past 10+ years. His unique style and performances links him to the lineage of his Guru, the stalwarts of the Farukhabad Gharana. Ritvik also pursues a passion and career in Classical Percussion. Currently, Ritvik studies at the Boston Conservatory and is attaining his Bachelors of Music in Percussion Performance, studying with great performers and pedagogues such as Kyle Brightwell, Sam Solomon, and Nancy Zeltsman. Ritvik seeks to develop an evergrowring bridge between Indian and Western percussion.
