Today is the Feast Day of my matron Saint, Anna. (Accoridng to the Catholic Feast Day calendar, of course).

This is my FAVORITE image of Anna, grandmother of Jesus. I met Her during my most recent visit to the Vatican Museum. She and Her family hang unceremoniously alongside other contemporary art.

The artist doesn’t explicitly name the people in the photo. But I’m pretty confident he created a portrait of baby Jesus with the three most important women in his life: Grandmother Anna, Mother Mary, and Mary Magdalene.

Of course this image pokes a hole in any attempt to present Jesus and Magdalene as beloved partners—but I simply don’t care! The strength of the totality of the Feminine is so potent in this image, that there’s no need to focus on romance.

Archetypically, it’s as if they’re the REVELATION of The Triple Goddess—Maiden, Mother, Crone. They guide, nurture, teach, and love on the little vulnerable baby Jesus. Without their care and wisdom, he COULD NOT become the future man (or god-man) who we now know as Christ.

Ave #maria 🔻 Ave #magdalena 🔻and Ave #anna

What do you think of this painting? Does my interpretation land or do you have a different take? Let me know!

I made it. Knossos Palace, Crete

Following the Goddess path is the gift of a lifetime. 🌺🙏

“Standing at the center
of the center of the wheel
opening the crimson gates
to fates im here to heal
reweaving the threading
of the shedding of the blood
the stories of my mothers mother
daughters daughter
sisters sister
through red rivers
we are one”

I recently responded to a GREAT question posted by one of you: Is Inanna an aspect of Astarte and Ishtar?

My Answer:
Great question! Each of these goddesses is distinct in Her own right. Inanna is Sumerian and Ištar is Akkadian. Both of these goddesses were worshipped throughout Mesopotamia. Astarte is a Semitic goddess whose worship was centered within the Levant (modern day Syria, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and parts of Turkey).
Inanna is likely the oldest of the three. And of course synchronization occurred when their respective cultures of origins came in contact with one another. This is very evident when the Akkadian’s conquered the Sumerians and Inanna and Ištar became nearly one and the same.
🌺
I’m curious to know what other questions YOU all might have about Inanna and the other goddesses mentioned? As I continue to write my chapter on the history of Inanna your questions will help me hone in on what’s missing in the conversation!

Feel free to leave your questions in the comments!

Jesus is a complicated figure. Many claim to know who the real Jesus was by what he said and did or was said about him. Yet, there’s much more to him than meets the eye.

When it comes to his interactions with women, it turns out Jesus was pretty radical. Examining his words and actions through the lens of ancient gender relations, my guest Dr. Hannah reveals a Jesus whose ministry supported the dignity and full humanity of women, other marginalized groups, and the Earth.

I’m thrilled to dive deeper into this version of Jesus LIVE on my YouTube show with my guest, Dr. Hannah Irish.

We’ll be joined by a fellow colleague and former Journey to the Goddess TV guest, Dr. Cindy Caldwell.

WHEN: Friday, July 14th @ 6pm PST / 9pm EST.

It’s not often that I get the opportunity to speak with someone whose journey into the heart of the Sacred Feminine so closely resembles my own! Liz Childs Kelly is one of those people

In this conversation, we deep dive into:
>>Her journey from a religious conservative Baptist upbringing to a full-fledged devotee of the Sacred Feminine.
>>How she experienced the profundity of the Sacred Feminine through the birth of her second child
>>Why reclaiming ancestral women’s or “Grandmother” wisdom is integral to the Sacred Feminine journey
>>How to experience Sacred Feminine power through acts of embodied surrender
>>And so much more!

In her book, Liz navigates her spiral path back home to Her with grace, humility, and a little magic. ✨
Join us tomorrow LIVE for what’s sure to be a beautiful conversation that I think so many women will resonate with.
