Holzmarkt 25 is a cooperatively organized urban development project on the banks of the river Spree in Berlin Friedrichshain. The project emerged from the Bar25, a temporary techno club that was located on the former wasteland between 2004 and 2010.
The riverbank at the Holzmarkt is now open to the public, renaturated and designed as a park. Next to the restaurant âKaterschmausâ and the club âKater Blauâ, there is a kindergarten, a concert hall as well as a central market square with bars, food stands and small retail shops (e.g. bakery, cafĂ©, tailor, wine shop,).
The Holzmarkt offers space for exhibitions, readings, artistry and various cultural events. It is home to numerous artists, musicians, social businesses and creative people from all over the world.
