Environment & economy are not mutually exclusive. Education is vital.
Both Indigenous & non-Indigenous youth are discovering the fascinating careers available in BC and Canada's sustainably managed natural resources we use every day.
Staying in school is the first step. We interviewed many First Nations post-secondary graduates who described their personal journeys that led to exciting careers in mining, forestry, oil and gas, wildfire management, environmental education and other fields. You can read their personal stories in Our Journeys, in the links or watch their video highlights.
Our Journeys was produced by Fored BC Society, a registered charity, providing inclusive, award-winning educational tools trusted since 1925. All our resources, including our sustainability magazine Landscapes, are free and utilized by schools, NGOs, youth groups & more.
We appreciate the financial support of the province of British Columbia, the Vancouver Foundation & our individual donors.
