Namaskar and hello everyone!
My name is Aarya Kini, and I am a Kathak student of Guru Jyotika Joshi at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS). It is under her tutelage that I am able to continue my pursuit of becoming a better dancer, and developing a deeper knowledge of Kathak. Prior to joining SIFAS in 2013, I began learning Kathak in 2009 at the age of seven, under Guru Rajesh Chand.
In my time at SIFAS, I received the Best Student Award in 2017, and was awarded the Natya Visharad title in 2020 after completing my Diploma in Kathak. On 17th August 2019 with the blessings of my Guru Jyotika Joshi, I was also able to perform my Manch Pravesh. Apart from my commitment to dance, I am also a dual-degree student studying at Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts in New York City, and am a lover of all things art!
