My background picture (intentionally out of focus) has my late mother standing on a balcony of my maternal grandfather’s house in Karachi. On my father’s side, I heard about his birth in Bombay and his maternal family seat in Poona. I was born in England. Now, I live in America. In Ohio, we have beautiful Autumns. I enjoy exploring my heritage. I enjoy learning languages. At the moment, learning Russian, Italian, Hindi, and Urdu are giving me inspiration and challenges. My intention is to use these languages as tools for exploring culture, history, science, and other walks of life.
Once I feel comfortable reading any language, I aspire to delve deeper into regional vernaculars that are in the geographical corridor that spreads from the Panjshir Valley in NE Afghanistan, to the Indus Valley in southeast Pakistan and western Gujarat in India. It continues along the coast of the Arabian Sea, and down to the Western Ghat mountains to south India’s coast.
