I grew up in Detroit, and as the name implies, I’ve moved frequently; I’ve lived in Ontario, Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Hawai'i, Kansas, Texas, California, Sweden, Germany, and England.
My passions are horticulture, history, archaeology, music, nature, game design. I’ve played a few different instruments in a few prog rock bands.
I have a degree in anthropology from UCLA, a Master’s in bioarchaeology from University College London, and other unfinished degrees including a Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge where I shot lasers at Vikings.
I've started businesses such as horticulture and landscape design, chocolate making, leather and metalworking. I started an aquatic plant nursery when I was 14. I've worked as a paleoethnobotanical lab tech, tour guide, horticulturalist, and government forensic scientist. I used to teach at university.
