Welcome to our empty nest homestead! We are David and Tracy, a husband and wife team married for over 30 years. After spending 20 + years in the teaching profession, rearing three children steeped in a rural lifestyle, we hit 50 and had an empty nest.
In 2020 we downsized from a big 4 bedroom farmhouse to a tiny 1 bedroom cabin. We are on a journey of using our acreage (prairie pastureland and woodland) to allow us to work from home.
With the exception of college years in our state’s capital, we’ve lived our entire lives in a rural area which has afforded us a wealth of knowledge about raising animals, hunting & fishing, running farm equipment, building, and gardening. We know there are still many things to learn so we welcome you to our tiny cabin living journey.
