Trailer and scenes from the shoestring punk film, Born To Lose. Released by Vanguard Cinema and Provisional in 1999, Born to Lose is a shoestring film that takes a pseudo-documentary glimpse into the punk periphery of the Los Angeles music scene and lead singer, Stevie Monroe's odyssey of nihilism. Not to be confused with the Lech Kowalski - Johnny Thunders documentary with the same name (Born To Lose: The Last Rock And Roll Movie), this dramatic feature film travelled around North America with the Vans Warped Tour and was seen by over a quarter of a million punk fans and also played a number of festivals including The Florida Film Festival, the IFFM in New York, and the Exground Filmfest in Wiesbaden, Germany. An accompanying soundtrack is available on Bomp!/Alive! Records and features Iggy and the Stooges, Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, The Zeros, and the Lazy Cowgirls as well as a number of excellent Los Angeles-based bands.
