Here you will find a variety of musical compositions and auditory experiments performed by synthesized instrument voices of our own design, accompanied by a scrolling "piano-roll" display. Leave us a comment if you would like to suggest a piece or video.
Our channel and our Matlab-based synthesizer began as a project for the Computing in the Arts course at Cornell University. Our goal was to reproduce the sounds of real instruments electronically by analyzing their sonic characteristics and writing a program to emulate this. The project has grown to also include the development of interesting and unique synthesizer sounds and designing new and exciting ways of visualizing music.
