Die Arbeiten am Fachgebiet Handhabungs und Montagetechnik orientieren sich an einem integrierten Fabrikbetrieb. Dieser ganzheitliche Ansatz erschließt Rationalisierungspotenziale, die sich aus den Wechselwirkungen von Produkt, Betriebsmittel und Organisation der Fabrik sowie deren Umfeld ergeben. Neben der Betriebsmittelplanung und der flexiblen Montageautomatisierung gehört auch die prozessorientierte Umgestaltung der Aufbau- und Ablauforganisation zu den Aufgaben des Fachgebiets.
