BRINGING DOWN THE BAND (est. 2009) is a Hip Hop music and culture amplifier. Starting out as a Hip Hop blog sharing dope & eclectic Hip Hop-related music from 2009-2017, with over 12,000 posts amplifying Hip Hop music. The blog then turned to primarily sharing music and news on YouTube. Around the same time, we created a weekly Hip Hop culture podcast called the New Old Heads that does deep-dives on Hip Hop related subjects and news. BDTB has actively supported and collaborated with creators in the Hip Hop space, conducted multiple interviews with Hip Hop voices, and created compilations and mini essay documentaries.
