Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune condition in which there is an increased tendency for the blood to clot. The condition can cause low grade symptoms such as migraines, memory problems, dizziness and fatigue, but also is responsible for acute events such as strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary emboli and DVTs. In pregnancy, APS is the most common treatable cause of recurrent miscarriage and can increase the chance of stillbirth up to five times.
APS Support UK aims to achieve earlier diagnosis and better treatment of through awareness and research.
