Born in 1988 in Algeria, DJ BLACKO, whose real name is ROUABHI ISSAM DAOUD, grew up in the culturally rich neighborhood of Eckmühl in Oran, a place renowned for nurturing some of Algeria’s greatest Rai music talents, including the legendary Cheb Khaled.
DJ BLACKO’s passion for music ignited at the tender age of six, leading him to master the piano and various other musical instruments. His deep love for music guided him into a career as a music producer, where he has made significant contributions to Algerian cinema by composing scores for numerous movies and series.
DJ BLACKO has produced over eight albums of reggae instrumental music. He is particularly celebrated for his innovative remakes and remixes of the timeless works of Cheb Hasni, transforming classic Rai tracks from the 80s and 90s into modern sounds, including rap, trap, drill, reggae, flamenco, and more.
