I was allergic to cats but frequently contact freed me from the allergy. I live in Thailand where street cats are everywhere. In October 2021 I adopted Taco&Tabby from a stray mother in my neighbourhood. In April 2022, I adopted Leona&Pan, from the same mother. Sadly, both had FeLV and died at 8 months and 13 months old respectively. One day after Pan was dead, it's June 2023, Taco disappeared. I futilely searched for him but I found few-week old street kittens. By the time they were almost 12 weeks old, I adopted 4 of them - Ninja, Vanilla, Moomoo and Brownie. Heartbreakingly, Brownie had FeLV and died from lymphoma at 10 months old. Both mothers might have FeLV that passed on to their kittens. I visited Brownie's mother again and found Gemi and Harley. I had 6 cats at home until my lovely Vanilla died from anemia after a brief illness. Adopting FeLV kittens will bring you joy, happiness and sadness when they die too early. These cuties deserve some comfort I can give to them.
